Sculptors Group Show Dimensions 2014

Many art lovers attended the Dimensions vernissage organized by the National Capital Network of Sculptors, held on Thursday September 11th at St. Brigid’s Centre for the Arts. Ottawa’s mayor Jim Watson officially opened the event, complimenting the artists on their caliber of artwork. The network showcased 24 artists’ latest sculptures, which were designed using a wide variety of techniques and media. A silent auction also took place throughout the event in support of the Boys & Girls Club of Ottawa. Here’s a highlight of some of the most stunning creations. (more…)

First Concept Art Meet up Pens and Pixels

Concept artists, illustrators, students, and art enthusiasts joined Algonquin professor and freelance artist Mike Kent to his kick-off event of Pens and Pixels. His idea is to start a recurring meet up for creative professionals. For his opening night, Mike lined up four guest speakers including award-winning illustrator Frederick Sebastian and comic icon Geof Isherwood as the key speaker. (more…)
